Choosing technology often starts with “what is trendy?”. A better question is: what reaches your goal at the lowest cost and lets the site grow for years? I design and build in several technologies, so I can compare them without bias.
Classic WordPress
Content and design live in one place — ideal for business websites, blogs and service sites. Pros: fast start, low cost, easy editing, huge ecosystem. Cons: heavy themes and many plugins hurt performance; regular updates are needed.
WooCommerce
When you need online sales with payments, couriers and invoices — full data ownership and no fee on sales.
Headless: Strapi + React
A CMS (e.g. Strapi) stores content and a React front end displays it via an API. The same content can power a website, a mobile app and a client portal. Pros: very high performance, full UI freedom, multi-channel. Cons: higher build and maintenance cost.
Quick comparison
| Criterion | WordPress | WooCommerce | Headless |
|---|---|---|---|
| Start cost | low | medium | higher |
| Time to launch | short | medium | longer |
| Performance | good with lean code | good when optimised | very high |
| Best for | business sites, blogs | stores | apps, platforms, PWA |
Technological independence
That is why I start with the strategy and UX/UI design stage — the technology decision is based on your goals, not on the developer’s habits.
